Hello and welcome to my website.

Since taking early retirement from teaching English at a local secondary school in January 2000, I have acquired a new career as a textile artist, speaker and writer.

This all began with a visit to see the Bayeux Tapestry in September 2002.  Like so many other textile enthusiasts, I found it captivating but it was the colours, as much as the extraordinary detail of the narrative, which inspired me and led to my working almost exclusively with natural dyes as the source of colour for textile artwork.

My first book, ‘Natural Dyes’, was published by A & C Black in August 2007.

Based centrally in Leicestershire, I give talks and run workshops all over the country, as well as exhibiting at ICHF shows.
